Frequently asked questions

We have collected the questions customers ask us on the phone and those people most often type into a search engine. The answers are specific — with prices and timeframes, and without hedging where the honest answer is no.

How much does servicing a coffee machine cost?
Servicing a coffee machine costs from PLN 50 for a seal replacement up to PLN 650 for a full strip-down clean. The most frequent jobs are brew unit reconditioning (PLN 90–120), descaling (PLN 150) and a periodic service (PLN 450). Diagnosis costs PLN 20–50 and is deducted from the repair cost if you go ahead. Our full price list is published on the site — no hidden costs.
What are the most common coffee machine faults?
The most common fault in an automatic machine is a jammed brew unit — it accounts for the majority of jobs that reach us. Next come a scaled water circuit, worn seals causing leaks, loss of pump pressure and a blocked milk frothing system. The vast majority of these are the result of missing maintenance rather than a design flaw.
What breaks most often in a coffee machine?
The part that fails most often is the brew unit — the mechanism that tamps and brews the coffee. It works on every single cup, has seals and moving parts, and wears out fastest. The second most failure-prone component is the thermoblock, destroyed by scale from hard water, and the third is the pump, which loses pressure over the years.
Do coffee machines need servicing?
Yes — an automatic machine needs a technical service every 10–12 months, much like a car. The service covers seal replacement, lubrication, circuit cleaning and pressure checks, costs PLN 450 and prevents failures whose repair often costs several times more. A machine used daily without maintenance typically breaks down in its third or fourth year.
Where is the Saeco service centre in Kraków?
Our workshop is at Wielicka 73/224, staircase 8, in the Podgórze district of Kraków. We are open Monday to Thursday 8:30–17:00, Friday until 16:00 and Saturday 9:00–14:00. The entrance is wheelchair accessible. Please call 577 313 343 before coming so we can prepare for your machine.
Which coffee machine brands do you repair?
We repair four brands: Saeco, Philips, Nivona and Melitta. We deliberately do not take on other manufacturers — rather than covering everything superficially, we prefer to know these four platforms genuinely well, keep parts in stock and keep turnaround short. If you have another brand, we are happy to point you in the right direction over the phone.
How do I get my machine to you?
You can bring the machine to Wielicka 73/224 in person, or send it by courier or parcel locker — we accept shipments from anywhere in Poland. Collection from your address is possible, but only after arranging the date and terms by phone in advance. If shipping, please pack the machine well and empty the water tank and drip tray.
What warranty do you give on repairs?
We give a 12-month warranty on every repair we carry out. That is two to four times longer than the industry standard of 3–6 months. The warranty covers the work performed and the parts we fitted. Detailed terms and exclusions are set out in our service terms.
How long does a repair take?
A typical repair takes one to five working days, depending on scope and parts availability. Diagnosis usually takes a day, brew unit reconditioning and descaling up to three days, and a full strip-down clean up to seven. We confirm the timeframe together with the quote, before any work begins.
Is the diagnosis chargeable?
Diagnosis costs between PLN 20 and 50, but it is deducted from the repair cost if you decide to proceed. In practice that means the diagnosis adds nothing to the agreed repair price. If you decline after the quote, you pay only for the diagnosis and collect the machine untouched.
Do you accept machines from outside Kraków?
Yes, we accept shipments from anywhere in Poland. Send the machine by courier or parcel locker to the workshop address and we will send it back after the repair. Shipping arrangements are agreed when we take the job. Please call before sending — we will help you judge whether the repair makes economic sense.
Are you an authorised Philips or Saeco service centre?
No — we are an independent workshop and hold no manufacturer authorisation. This means we do not carry out manufacturer warranty repairs; if your machine is still under factory warranty, a repair here could void it. On out-of-warranty repairs we give our own 12-month guarantee.
