Serwis Saeco

Service terms

Diagnosis costs PLN 20–50 and is deducted from the repair, the quote is binding and given before work starts, and every repair carries a 12-month guarantee. For jobs booked remotely, consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal, except where the service has already been fully performed with their express consent.

1. General provisions

Repair services are provided by Cafe Media Bartłomiej Skorupa, Wielicka 73 lok. 224, 30-552 Kraków, NIP 8661566168, REGON 361871488, hereinafter the Workshop.

The workshop is located at Wielicka 73/224, klatka 8, 30-552 Kraków.

The Workshop is an independent business and holds no manufacturer authorisation. We do not perform manufacturer warranty repairs. If a machine is still under factory warranty, a repair by the Workshop may void it — we inform you of this before accepting the job.

The Workshop accepts for repair only coffee machines of the following makes: Saeco, Philips, Nivona, Melitta.

2. Accepting a machine

A machine may be delivered in person during opening hours, by courier or parcel locker, or handed over during a collection from the customer where the date and terms have been agreed by phone in advance. Collection from the customer is not a standard service.

On acceptance the Workshop issues a confirmation containing the job number, the reported fault and the external condition of the machine.

The customer hands over the machine with the water tank, drip tray and grounds container emptied. The Workshop is not liable for accessories or items left inside the machine that were not listed on the acceptance confirmation.

For courier shipments, correct packaging is the sender’s responsibility. We recommend a padded box and securing any moving parts.

3. Diagnosis and quote

Diagnosis costs between PLN 20 and 50, depending on the work required. Its cost is deducted from the repair price if the customer decides to proceed.

After diagnosis the Workshop provides a quote covering labour, parts and the expected completion date. The quote is binding on the Workshop.

The Workshop starts the repair only after the customer accepts the quote. If a fault outside the quote emerges during the repair, the Workshop halts work and issues a supplementary quote.

If the quote is declined, the customer pays only for the diagnosis and collects the machine in the condition in which it was delivered.

4. Repair warranty

The Workshop grants a 12-month warranty on the repair, running from the day the machine is handed back.

The warranty covers the work performed and the parts fitted by the Workshop. A claim requires proof of the repair bearing the job number.

The warranty does not cover:

Warranty claims are handled within 14 days of the machine being delivered to the Workshop.

This repair warranty does not exclude, limit or suspend the customer’s statutory rights.

  • faults in components other than those that were the subject of the repair;
  • damage caused by use contrary to the manufacturer’s instructions, in particular failure to descale;
  • mechanical damage, liquid ingress and the effects of mains power surges;
  • consequences of any interference with the machine after the repair by the customer or a third party;
  • normal wear of consumable parts.

5. Right of withdrawal

If the customer is a consumer and the contract was concluded at a distance or off the Workshop’s premises — in particular through the booking form, by phone or in connection with a courier shipment — they have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days without giving a reason.

The period runs from the day the service contract is concluded. Sending the statement before the deadline is sufficient to meet it.

A withdrawal statement may be made in any form, including in writing to the Workshop’s address or by email to [email protected].

The right of withdrawal does not apply to a service contract where the Workshop has fully performed the service with the customer’s express prior consent, the customer having been informed before performance began that they would lose the right of withdrawal once the service was complete. This follows from Article 38 of the Polish Consumer Rights Act.

If the customer requested that the repair begin before the withdrawal period expired and then withdrew from the contract, they are obliged to pay for what was performed up to the moment of withdrawal.

The above applies accordingly to a natural person concluding a contract directly connected with their business activity where the contract is not of a professional character for them.

6. Collection and payment

The Workshop notifies the customer by phone or email when a repair is complete.

Payment is made on collection or before return shipping, as agreed when the job was accepted.

The terms and cost of return shipping are agreed individually when the job is accepted.

The machine should be collected within 30 days of notification that the repair is complete. After that period the Workshop may charge a storage fee, of which the customer is warned in the notification.

7. Complaints

Complaints about work performed may be submitted in writing to the Workshop’s address or by email to [email protected].

A complaint should include the job number, a description of the issue and the remedy sought.

The Workshop considers complaints within 14 days of receipt and informs the customer of the outcome.

Consumers may use out-of-court dispute resolution, including the EU online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr, and the assistance of a municipal or district consumer ombudsman.
