The grinder will not grind
When the grinder runs loudly but produces nothing, the cause is usually a foreign object between the burrs or simple wear. Grinder repair costs PLN 250 for labour plus PLN 70–150 for parts. A small stone in the bean hopper can jam the mechanism completely.

Check this yourself first
Some faults you can clear yourself. If none of this helps, we know where to look.
- Empty the bean hopper and check for foreign objects
- Vacuum the grinder chamber — never use water
- Set a coarser grind — adjusting an empty grinder can damage the burrs
- Check the beans are not overly oily or damp

Where we see this most often
Melitta
In Melitta machines the most common jobs involve the grinder and the milk system. The conical burrs in the Barista range are durable but sensitive to foreign objects in the beans — a small stone can jam the grinder completely. The milk system needs consistent cleaning or dried residue blocks the flow.
Nivona
In Nivona machines we most often find a scaled thermoblock and a pump losing pressure — both a direct result of brewing on hard water without regular descaling. A service every 10–12 months practically eliminates these failures and costs less than a single thermoblock replacement.
